Selenophilia

Oh give me a piece
of this lustrous moon
And it’s light
will I capture
to walk through
the dark passage
of time so roguish
and uncertain

Oh, the cool
and invigorating embrace
of this piece of moon,
to this bothered soul
will soothe its
qualms about
the world,
so opinionated
yet passive

And oh,
till the last drop
will I extract,
the essence
of its sobriety
So that
in the battle
to exhibit
the plethora of
“All that glitters”,
I unveil
my sublime simplicity.

  1. Oh, the Moon! I love your poem and the profound meaning disguised within. “The world so opinionated but passive”. I have an affinity with the moon and always check the canyons and mountains so clearly visible on the light side of the full moon. Thank you.

  2. Love how you take inspiration from the moon. Beautiful poemπŸ’š
How the first part is the moon giving us light in our dark times. The moon giving strength to a doubtful or fearful soul in the second, to withstand the opinions of others. And embracing the totality of the moon in the last part, to shine our inner light but to do so in sublime simplicity like the moon.

    Love the metaphorsπŸ’š

  3. This poem is so inspired… it’s magical. I love the second stanza especially. It feels very familiar somehow. But totally original also. Love!! And thank you so much for visiting my site just now!! I feel truly honoured. πŸ’–πŸ™πŸ˜‡
